The Huia Art Space
The Huia Art Space hosts a permanent collection of artwork from artists from New
Zealand and abroad. The Space is also available as a group studio space for
workshops, visiting exhibitions and art tours.
The Window Exhibition Area
Centrally located adjacent to our cafe, The Window Exhibition Area offers recent
works by local Artists Kim Gabara and Bruce Fergus. Back by popular demand, they
are calling this year’s presentation of work '2 Mo's On Show' - a tongue in
cheek title that indicates the playful attitude of their collection on display. It
also makes them easy to spot, referring to their distinctive moustaches! The work
being shown is a mix of paintings, sculptural wall hangings and a variety of
‘table top’ sculptures. Both men enjoy creating pieces of art from found objects –
including scrap steel, copper and driftwood. Their work demonstrates a desire to
create pieces that in some way reflect the ambience of life in Marlborough. With
their use of colour and texture, they inspire and delight local residents in
particular.
The Art Shop
The Art Shop is located at Lochmara Lodge reception, and presents small artworks
and gifts from New Zealand artists, including wall sculpture, small paintings,
cards, and jewellery.
New Zealand art is also showcased throughout the Lodge in all
public and accommodation spaces.
We can arrange packaging and shipping for all art purchased
through the Centre. |
