Lochmara Lodge is a vibrant art centre and we encourage artists
to become involved at a range of levels.
Residency Programme
Residency opportunities are available at the Lodge from September to June each
year. The purpose of the programme is to support artists seeking new inspiration
for their work and to encourage access to artists regionally, nationally, and
internationally. The programme is open to serious and professional artists from
across the full spectrum of the arts. Click

Art Workshop Series
Lochmara Lodge Arts Centre offers a series of
residential workshops through Spring and Autumn. These provide an opportunity
for professional development and fresh inspiration. To submit a proposal to teach
a new workshop, please download the proposal form and email it to

Exhibiting at Lochmara
Art permeates the entire Lochmara Lodge property, including in the public areas,
café, outdoor areas, accommodation rooms, and through the native bush. There is
also a dedicated gallery space in the Huia Art Space and an art shop located in
the Lodge reception area. We accept art for sale in all the gallery spaces and are
able to exhibit a range of mediums. Expressions of interest to submit work on
consignment will be received for all locations until 31 October 2011, for the
upcoming season.
The Window Exhibition Area
A small indoor exhibition space in the Lochmara Cafe hosts local artists Kim
Gabara and Bruce Fergus, present witty pieces of art from recycled materials in an
exhibition which changes throughout the season as works sell.
To discuss any of these opportunities, please contact the Arts
Coordinator at
