We are located in Lochmara Bay on the
tranquil shores of the Queen Charlotte Sound in the stunning
Marlborough Sounds.
There are no roads to Lochmara Lodge. We
are reached by water from Picton in our fast water taxi or by
kayak or floatplane, or via the Queen Charlotte Track for
walkers and mountain-bikers. We are also accessible by
helicopter.
A limited number of moorings are available
for visitors with their own boat.
Water taxi departure times:
Depart Picton: 9am, 12.15pm and 3.15pm, 5.30pm (dinner
cruise only) Depart Lochmara: 11am, 2.45pm, 4pm (off
peak) / 5pm (Oct – Apr)*
Reporting time is 10 minutes before
departure. One way trip taxes approximately 15 minutes.
*Peak season only. Labour weekend to Easter Monday
inclusive. Charter options are available for departures from
Momorangi, Mistletoe Bay and Anakiwa, and for alternative
times from Picton, subject to availability.
